Plot

New York City, Back in the Day: Luke Cage has escaped from Seagate Prison, after being set up by Willis Stryker, and is seeking revenge. Luke finds Stryker, who is now a mutant, and Luke explains how he missed the Mutant/Human War, and how was experimented on in prison and now has his current power set of super strength and invulnerability. Luke Cage then kills Stryker and becomes a new crime boss of Sapien Town.

Luke then forms a new team of Sapiens, including Hawkeye, a thief who prefers harder heists to easy scores, Moon Knight and Iron Fist, two street toughs avoiding the Mutant police, and Tigra, a Sapien who can pass as a mutant. They start protecting Sapiens from the Mutant police and try to make a safe place in Sapien Town.

This gets the attention of Misty Knight and the Sapien police who are trying to prove that humans are just as good police as the mutants.
